Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information and your child’s information.
Draft dated 30 October 2026
Who we are
Minhal Academy (“we”, “us”) provides private one-to-one online lessons in Quran reading, Tajweed, memorization, Arabic, and Islamic studies for children and adults. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Trial bookings: when you book a free trial, our scheduling provider, Calendly, collects your name, email address, the time you choose, and any answers you give to its questions. We receive that information from Calendly.
- Messages: information you choose to send us by email.
- Lessons: if you enrol, the learner’s name, age group, learning goals, lesson schedule, attendance, and progress notes, and a parent or guardian’s contact details for learners under 18.
- Website use: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To arrange and run your trial lesson and any lessons that follow.
- To match each learner with a suitable teacher and track learning progress.
- To contact you about lessons, schedules, and fees.
- To keep our website and learners safe.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Children
Many of our learners are children. For a learner under 18, we collect only what we need to teach them, and we ask a parent or guardian to provide the child’s information and agree to our terms before regular lessons begin. Parents and guardians can ask to see, correct, or delete their child’s information at any time.
Lesson recordings
We do not record lessons unless the adult learner, or the parent or guardian of a child, has agreed in advance.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the academy, such as our scheduling provider (Calendly), our website host (Vercel), and our email and video-lesson providers, and only so they can provide that service. Your child’s teacher sees only what they need to teach the lessons. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect a child from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Specific retention periods will be confirmed in the final version of this policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, and to object to or limit how we use it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You can also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and show the new date at the top.
